Project Overview

This programme of strategic energy storage and infrastructure works covers a range of
projects delivered to improve national energy resilience. Activities included the design and
construction of storage and pumping facilities, associated pipeline networks, terminal works
and systems integration to support grid stability and seasonal storage requirements.

These projects typically involved multi-disciplinary teams delivering civil, mechanical and
electrical works to tight interface requirements. The scale varied between large regional
storage caverns and smaller distributed energy infrastructure, all contributing to a broader
national capability for energy security.

Key technical demands included earthworks and containment, high-integrity pumping and
piping systems, and specialised electrical and control systems integration. Projects were often
delivered in partnership with energy utilities and government bodies to align with policy and
market needs.
